One would think that a toxic train derailment in Ohio would warrant a visit from the president. The accident, which resulted in a release of harmful chemicals into the air and forced evacuations, occurred on Feb. 3. Joe Biden has yet to visit. In fact, the first former or current president to visit was Donald Trump.

WATCH: EAST PALESTINE MAYOR SLAMS BIDEN’S UKRAINE VISIT AS ‘SLAP IN THE FACE’

Biden’s slight did not go unnoticed by the community, including the mayor of East Palestine, Trent Conaway. While speaking to Fox News host Jesse Watters, Conaway unloaded on Biden for visiting Ukraine before bothering with East Palestine.

“Absolutely, that was the biggest slap in the face,” Conaway said. “That tells you right now he doesn’t care about us.”

It’s hard to argue with Conaway’s logic. Assuming any objectivity, even the biggest Biden supporter and staunchest Democrat would have to admit it is disgraceful that Biden hasn’t visited the place. He had time to travel the 4,864 miles to Kyiv, Ukraine, but not the 290 miles from Washington, D.C., to East Palestine.

“He can send every agency he wants to, but I found that out this morning in one of the briefings that he was in the Ukraine giving millions of dollars away to people over there, not to us, and I’m furious,” Conaway said.

Politicians always play games and use fake outrage to earn political points. Yet, when Biden can’t visit a city in nearly three weeks after an accident, it speaks to his priorities. This should go beyond political lines. Biden slighting Ohio isn’t a red-vs.-blue, liberal-vs.-conservative, or Democrat-vs.-Republican issue. It warrants outrage from everyone, regardless of political ideology. There is legitimately no other way to view Biden’s actions, or inaction, than as evidence he doesn’t care and puts the needs of his own country last.
