BIDEN TO DELIVER PUBLIC REMARKS ON UNIDENTIFIED FLYING OBJECTS AS EARLY AS THURSDAY: REPORT
The meeting will take place after Biden’s planned trip to Poland next week to mark the first anniversary of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Biden and Scholz plan on discussing a range of topics, including the war and other pressing matters.
Earlier this year, both countries agreed to supply Ukraine with tanks to aid in its efforts to stave off Russia. Other foreign policy matters, such as China, are expected to come up in Biden’s meeting with Scholz as well.
“They will also review our continued cooperation on a range of regional and global security issues, including working together on shared challenges posed by China and our cooperation in the Indo-Pacific,” Jean-Pierre added.
Scholz is slated to meet with Vice President Kamala Harris this week at the Munich Security Conference. Both countries have been keen on deepening ties.
Berlin has urged the United States to revisit rules that it claims put European companies at a competitive disadvantage in trade with the U.S. compared to Mexico and Canada. Scholz and other European leaders have also voiced concerns about green energy subsidies from the Inflation Reduction Act that Biden has championed.
