CNN executive producer for Jake Tapper ousted after affair with subordinate: Report

An executive producer for The Lead with Jake Tapper on CNN has been terminated after it was discovered that he had been engaged in an inappropriate relationship with a subordinate.
Federico Quadrani had worked on Tapper’s show at CNN for a decade, after moving over from MSNBC.

Per Page Six, several sources at CNN explained that some were aware of the affair but didn’t have proof of it.
“There were some complaints. No one had proof, and these things are hard to prove. Jake was aware of the investigation,” one source said.
There had been an “investigation of sorts” conducted by human resources, another source told Page Six, and the couple was almost cleared.
However, Tapper was “presented with something that he couldn’t ignore” on Feb. 8, leading to Quadrani’s termination by Feb. 10.
A spokesperson for CNN told the Washington Examiner, “I cannot provide comment on internal personnel matters.”
On Wednesday, Quadrani’s Twitter account still maintained that he is an “Executive Producer, The Lead with Jake Tapper on CNN.”
The affair was with a midlevel female executive, who has also been fired, according to the Daily Mail.
A year ago, former CNN President Jeff Zucker resigned after it was discovered that he had engaged in a “consensual relationship” with fellow executive Allison Gollust, who also resigned.

Despite the scandal, it was reported that Zucker received $5 million in an exit deal from Warner Media. The amount was supposedly compensation Zucker was owed from his 2021 bonus that was given to him after negotiating an exit deal with the CNN parent company.
After Zucker’s departure, Chris Licht was announced as his replacement. Licht has been vocal about his desire to recenter the network and has already made several shake-ups at CNN.
