A woman staying at a Florida hotel died Monday after she was run over by a forklift during storm repairs at the location.

The hotel guest, identified as a 62-year-old woman, was killed as she walked through the Beach Haven Inn’s parking lot, Daytona Beach Shores Public Safety Director Michael Fowler said.

Located next to the Atlantic Ocean, the location sustained significant damage when Hurricane Ian battered Florida in September, according to a report.

Repairs were required, and the forklift had been transporting new roofing material when its driver ran down the woman.
