A man in South Carolina is being celebrated after he donated the entirety of his $150,000 Powerball win to charity.

The winner, identified as a Greenville man, called the win “exhilarating” and said he bought the ticket for the Jan. 16 drawing from a local GT Express Mart, according to a Friday release from the South Carolina Education Lottery.

“I hit enough to make someone happy,” the winner said.

He missed the grand prize by one number, but he chose four winning numbers and the Powerball number, according to the release.

“Paying an extra dollar for PowerPlay tripled his $50,000 win to $150,000,” according to the release.

“The odds of winning $50,000 by matching four white ball numbers and the red Powerball number playing Powerball are 1 in 913,129. The odds of a 3X multiplier being selected are 1 in 3.23 when the jackpot is more than $150 million.”
