Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) made a bold prediction Monday that President Joe Biden will not be the Democrats’ presidential nominee in 2024.

Biden is widely speculated to announce his 2024 plans in the weeks after the State of the Union address Tuesday, but Cruz hypothesized that contrary to conventional wisdom, Biden will not run for a second term in 2024 and the Democrats will be thrust into a frenzy.

MAJORITY OF DEMOCRATS DON’T WANT BIDEN TO VIE FOR REELECTION IN 2024: POLL

“I’m here to tell you, Joe Biden’s not going to run in ‘24. I do not believe he will be the Democrat nominee in ’24,” Cruz predicted on Fox News’s Jesse Watters Primetime.

Possible alternatives to Biden could include Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA), according to Cruz, but he also cast doubt on the prospects of Vice President Kamala Harris taking up the mantle because she “sticks her feet in her mouth every day.”

Cruz pointed to a recent scathing New York Times article on Harris as proof that the political knives are coming out against her and emphasized that ambitious Democrats eyeing a potential presidential opening view Harris as being “in their way.”

“Listen, when Democrats want to kill each other, they have the New York Times on speed dial No. 1,” Cruz theorized. “I think all the ambitious Democrats are measuring the drapes … and so these knives are coming from every direction.”

“There’s a reason why Kamala has been given one and only one responsibility in the Biden presidency. You’re in charge of the southern border. Now, you don’t give your vice president the biggest mess in your presidency unless you really dislike your vice president,” Cruz added.

Only 37% of Democrats favor Biden seeking a second term, according to a recent Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll.

Cruz also ripped Biden for his handling of the suspected Chinese spy balloon situation. The balloon drifted through United States airspace for roughly a week before the military shot it down off the coast of South Carolina on Saturday.

“He let this balloon hover over sensitive military facilities, presumably taking photographs, taking infrared, no doubt trying to intercept communications and likely sending all of that data up to satellites and back to Beijing. And after a week after it had completed its mission, only then did Biden discover the courage to shoot the damn thing down,” Cruz said.
