Madison Square Garden Chairman James Dolan has hired former Trump aide Hope Hicks to assist with public relations for the organization.

Hicks served as White House communications director and later as a White House adviser during the Trump administration, according to the New York Post.

Dolan and the Garden have come under intense scrutiny for using facial recognition at the arena in midtown Manhattan to deny entry to lawyers who have pending litigation against Dolan or his companies.

Dolan, owner of the NBA’s New York Knicks and NHL’s New York Rangers, has defended the use of the technology despite a warning from the New York State Liquor Authority that the arena’s liquor license could be revoked if he continues denying those people entry to the arena.

“They’re being extremely aggressive, and they’re saying, ‘We’re going to take away your liquor license.’ So I have a little surprise for them,” Dolan said to WNYW last week.

“What we’re going to do, right, is we’re going to pick a night, maybe a Rangers game, and we’re going to shut down all the liquor and alcohol in the building.”
