Biden’s alternative reality on everything, including abortion

One can understand why President Joe Biden wishes the leaders of his Catholic faith didn’t believe what they believe, but they do.
No matter how much Biden may wish Catholic bishops shared his belief that killing a life in a mother’s womb isn’t a sin, they do.

Now it is possible that news hadn’t reached Biden when he emphatically said that Catholic bishops do not oppose using tax dollars for abortions, but then why was Biden so emphatic in saying they don’t?
Here is the exchange from Monday:
REPORTER: Catholic bishops are demanding that federal tax dollars not fund abortions. BIDEN: No, they are not all doing that.
Except that is exactly what Catholic bishops have done.
Last week, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops issued a letter to House and Senate leaders endorsing the No Taxpayer Funding for Abortion and Abortion Insurance Full Disclosure Act. Among other things, the legislation permanently bans the use of taxpayer dollars for abortion.
Now why would Biden say something that was so obviously false?
Maybe because he has a long-established history of saying completely false things and getting away with it.
Name literally any public policy issue and Biden has lied about it: debt, deficits, gun control, jobs, immigration, Social Security, taxes. Biden has his own completely false version of each one.
The same goes for his entire biography, whether it’s his grades in college, his record on civil rights, or which war zones he has been to.
There is nothing Biden hasn’t already spoken falsely about. That he is living in his own world of alternative facts on abortion, too, shouldn’t be a surprise.
