The disagreement between the two men escalated to the point at which the homeowner went inside his home and grabbed a firearm, according to a report.

The second person, reportedly armed with a large landscaping rock, followed the man into his home.

The homeowner shot and killed the man after his entry, according to the FCPD.

Authorities responded and declared the intruder dead upon arrival, and the homeowner was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A preliminary investigation appeared to show no connection between the homeowner and the intruder, the report noted.
