Bus driver who smashed into NJ home charged with DWI

The New Jersey school bus driver who crashed into a home Friday morning is facing charges of driving while intoxicated.
Anthony Stuckey, 37, is also facing 15 counts of endangering the welfare of a child as he had just dropped off students at Essex County Vocational School 3 miles away from the crash site on Passaic Avenue in West Caldwell. No one else was on the bus with Stuckey at the time of the crash.
Stuckey crossed the dividing line and clipped a black minivan after he failed to manage a tight turn, which led him to hit the home. As a result, it shifted the foundation, compromised the stability of the home, crumpled the front engine of the bus, and broke its windshield, according to West Caldwell Police.

Police also found Stuckey did not have a proper commercial driver’s license despite being employed by the Phoenix Transportation Service. He suffered minor injuries which were treated at the scene.

The owner of the house, since revealed to be Stevens Institute of Technology teacher Siva Thangam, was not in the house at the time of the crash.
