“Jessie was a model teammate and wonderful young man who is gone far too soon. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends during this difficult time.”
A Florida native, Lemonier arrived in the NFL in 2020 as an undrafted free agent out of Liberty University and joined the Los Angeles Chargers.
During his time with Detroit, Lemonier played in seven games of the 2021 season, where he registered 15 tackles and 1.5 sacks, according to a report.
He then signed with the Arizona Cardinals last summer and registered one preseason sack before being released.
Lemonier, an expecting father, most recently signed with the Houston Gamblers of the USFL before he was traded to the Birmingham Stallions, the report noted.
