Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) has reportedly announced that he is running for reelection but not to be president.
“I’m running for the U.S. Senate,” Scott said, reported by NBC News. The outlet was told that Scott plans to push his controversial tax plan, “Rescue America,” which President Joe Biden blasted last fall.

“Rescue America” is touted by Scott as a 12-point plan to make the nation’s future bright. “Americans deserve to know what we will do when given the chance to govern,” its website reads.
Scott ended last year with a failed leadership challenge to Sen. Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and continued his war of words with the Senate minority leader into the new year. Scott only received ten votes in his challenge to McConnell for minority leader, but his action marked the first time McConnell had ever faced a challenge in his 16-year tenure leading Senate Republicans.
