Trump hosts Libs of TikTok creator and Babylon Bee owner for dinner: Report

Former President Donald Trump hosted the conservative influencer behind the Libs of TikTok Twitter account and the owner of the Babylon Bee at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida this week for dinner, according to a media report.
The nature of the dinner was not disclosed, but Libs of TikTok founder Chaya Raichik said that she had been invited to a dinner by the former president in a tweet Tuesday.

“Bumped into this guy and he invited me for dinner,” Raichik tweeted alongside a photo of herself and Trump. “He seems nice!”

Raichik added in a separate tweet that she asked the former president if he could retweet the picture as his first post back on the social media platform. Trump’s Twitter account was reinstated by owner Elon Musk in November, but he has not posted so far, electing to use his Truth Social platform instead.
Babylon Bee owner Seth Dillon was also at the dinner, which an unnamed source told NBC News was related to Trump’s new plan to charm influencers ahead of the 2024 Republican primaries. Trump announced a third bid for the White House in November, but he has not held or attended many functions since then. He will head to New Hampshire and South Carolina for events on Saturday.
Trump is expected to hold other dinners for social media influencers in the future, the source said.

Libs of TikTok has gained 1.8 million followers on Twitter and 300,000 on Instagram since its creation in November 2020. The account largely focuses on the Left and centers on stories about the LGBTQ community and education. Raichik, a Florida conservative, is considered influential in Gov. Ron DeSantis’s circle and claimed to have helped create right-wing legislation in Florida.
Raichik, who ran the account anonymously until she was exposed by Washington Post reporter Taylor Lorenz, will be hosting in-person events in the future.
