Philadelphia is experiencing a crime wave like no other in its over 300-year history. Theft, muggings, assaults, carjackings, and homicides are all plaguing the city’s communities. And, while these stories continue to humiliate Philadelphia, Democratic government officials continue to sit idly by, silently giving their consent to the policies that have turned the city’s jails into doors.

But now, the criminals may have committed the ultimate sin – stealing a car from a player on its beloved football team, the Philadelphia Eagles.

PHILADELPHIA PROSECUTOR SHOULD BE REMOVED FROM OFFICE

Maybe this will finally cause Democrats to start taking crime seriously instead of blaming everyone and everything besides the culprits – the criminals and the district attorney who implemented reforms that took people out of jail and put them back on the street.

After Saturday night’s playoff win over the New York Giants, Eagles safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson’s car was stolen. He revealed the crime on Monday on Instagram Live.

“I know exactly who took my car. It’s good. I know exactly who stole my s***, bro.” Gardner-Johnson said. “Yeah, don’t worry about it, we got y’all on camera.”

“Wow. Wow, that’s how y’all gettin’ down in Philly? Y’all steal … s***? After a win?” he said in the video’s final moments.

Sadly (and embarrassingly), Gardner-Johnson isn’t the only VIP victimized by car theft. In December 2021, congresswoman Mary Gay Scanlon (D-PA) was carjacked at gunpoint in the afternoon, ironically in an area near the Philadelphia Eagles practice facility.

The theft of Gardner-Johnson’s car is the latest black eye for the City of Brotherly Love. To be honest, it has suffered so many recently that it looks like it went fifteen rounds with Rocky Balboa. No city should have to suffer through this left-wing bureaucratic incompetence. Whether it is Gardner-Johnson, Scanlon, or any ordinary citizen, the crime must stop.

Presently, Philadelphia is little more than a shameful, humiliating embarrassment. The city’s Democrats must stop the political games and start getting tough on crime. Hold criminals accountable, put them in jail, and begin placing safety over crazy leftist, Democratic political ideals. Philadelphia’s people deserve leadership that prioritizes security, which is much more than what its elected officials have given them recently.
