If Arizona’s Kari Lake is supposed to be the future of the GOP, then no one could be happier than the Democratic Party.

Lake and her team continue to pretend that she was cheated out of becoming the governor of Arizona in order to hide her massive failures as a candidate. According to the Arizona Republic, Lake lost 33,000 in Maricopa County alone who voted for Republicans in down-ballot races. Those 33,000 voters who backed Republicans elsewhere on the ballot voted for Democrat Katie Hobbs for governor instead. Lake lost the race by just over 17,000 votes.

JUDGE REJECTS KARI LAKE’S BID TO UNDO ELECTION LOSS, CONFIRMS HOBBS VICTORY

Who could have guessed that a Republican candidate telling Republicans to “get the hell out” would end up losing Republican voters and, in the process, a competitive election?

While Lake’s team continues to peddle conspiracy theories about heat maps and voting machines, the fact remains that other Republicans did just fine in Arizona. Further down the ballot, Republican Kimberly Yee won the treasurer race with more total votes than Lake (or Hobbs) received at the top of the ballot. Yee outperformed Lake in every single county in the state. Elsewhere, Republicans cruised in House races.

This should be a lesson to Republicans in Arizona and across the country to shun Lake, who is running around losing lawsuits and claiming that she is the “duly-elected” governor of Arizona. If not, Lake is prepared to try and lose another winnable race. According to CNN, “a source close to Lake” says that she is now considering running for Senate in 2024.

All the mockery Republicans rightly directed toward Stacey Abrams after her loss in Georgia in 2018 and the years of Democratic conspiracy theories about “voter suppression” can now easily be thrown back at Republicans. Lake is a loser who blew a winnable race against a bad Democratic candidate while other Republicans did their jobs down-ballot. If Republicans can’t cast her and her conspiracy theories out of the party, then they deserve every Lake loss that will inevitably follow.
