Rescue efforts continue for British actor Julian Sands after he went missing while on a hike in Southern California last Friday as dangerous storms continue to ravage the state.

Authorities confirmed Sands was missing Wednesday after he was last seen hiking California’s Mount Baldy on Friday. The mountain is just northeast of Los Angeles.

CALIFORNIA’S STORM AMONG THE WORST DISASTERS EVER, STATE SAYS

San Bernardino County sheriff’s deputies say two hikers were injured and later died from falls on or near the 10,068-foot peak in the past month. According to a public service advisory, there have been 14 rescues in the area in the past month alone.

A woman died earlier this month by trying to slide down an estimated 500 to 700 feet from an icy hillside in the same area, according to KTLA News.

Authorities have said the dangerous storms have made their rescue efforts difficult, but they are continuing to search for Sands as the weather allows.

“Please know the current conditions on Mt Baldy are adverse and extremely dangerous,” the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department said in the public service advisory on Wednesday. “Due to the high winds, the snow has turned to ice making hiking extremely dangerous.”

“Sheriff’s Search and Rescue efforts are often hampered by poor weather along with dangerous avalanche conditions. The recent storms that brought the snow and ice conditions are not favorable for hikers, even those that feel they have a high level of experience,” the department added.
